Summary:This case study was conducted to investigate the relationship between compensation and employees' retainment at Kuching Water Board, Batu Lintang, Sarawak. The objective of the study is to determine the relationship of selected compensation factors such as salary, voluntary benefits, supervisor, challenging work, sgfety and comfort work environment and recognition towards the employees' retainment. This study uses survey methodology and questionnaire in a . förm of Likert Scale as an instrument. A total of 60 employees of the organization were selected randomly as the survey sample. The data acquired from the survey was analyzed using Statistical Package of Social Science Version 11.5 in descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation and linear regression (Stepwise) method Both of the methods aim to describe the demographic characteristic of each respondent, determine the relationship between compensation factor and employees' retainment and to define the dominant factor that influence employees' retainment in the survev. From the study conducted, factors such as voluntary benefits and safety and comfört work environment have been. found to have impact on the employees' retainment in Kuching Water Board, tivith voluntary benefits as the dominant. factor. The level of employees' retainment in Kuching Water Board is also high. As a conclusion, safety and comfortable working environment factor should he given a serious attention in order to improve the employees' retainment at Kuching Water Board, Butu Linlang, Sarawak
