Summary: | School beautification programme is one of five domains in the “Sekolah Lima Bintang” (SLB) Programme. SLB organized by the Kedah State Education Department. Beautification activity is one of the extra co-curricular activities which was carried out by the school society/club/uniform unit. This beneficial activity can develop a balance and harmonius human being in parallel with the aspiration of National Education Philosophy. Personality is a behaviour/ manner that can be developed and formed into a habit if it is done continuosly through a well-planned educational activity especially if it is done in the classroom. The purpose of this research is to identify whether the students’ involvement in the co-curricular activities is related to their behaviour. A set of questionanaire which has 46 items from six behaviourism dimension had been identified for a test. It was distributed to a population of 1087. Only 821 were returned. Respondents were among the form four students of the six best school in the SLB of Kota Setar District. Those six behaviourism dimensions tested in this research were disciplinary behaviour, caring, cooperation, positive attitude, emotional, and skill acquirement as well as total personality dimension. They are tested to see the difference between the active group and the non-active group in the personality characteristic. Eight hypotheses had been developed in the research. By using the direct-ANOVA and T-test, the findings showed that all tested dimension have significant relationship with the beutification activity. So null hypotheses are rejected and it is proved that students who
are participated actively in the beautification programme have developed positive personality in their attitudes. As a result, this research can hopefully give extra helpful
information for the State Education Department and school towards managing the outdoor class activity and program to achieve the National Education Philosophy aspirations. Hopefully, parents can motivate their children to get involve in all the SLB activities, indoor or out door. Besides developing the student’s personality, it can also
expose the student to the social interaction among themselves. As a result, it can develop their children behaviour and character.
