The excessive steps and non-standardize working procedure of the workers in the coil setup needed to be eliminated and some internal steps should change to internal steps to reduce the cycle time. To achieve the objective of this study, the method used in this study is lean tools and techniques such as Time Measurement Sheet (TMS), Standard Work Combination Table (SWCT), Standard Work Chart (SWC) and Single Minutes Exchange Dies technique (SMED). The finding of this study is a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that able to reduce the cycle time and increase the efficiency of the coil setup. This new SOP will be used for the future reference, and it will proliferate to the other similar operation in the department. Future research should conduct in this direction of examining the working mechanism of the workers by using Maynard’s Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) to get more accurate results and achieve continuous improvement.
