Description
Summary:The process evaluation is essential to determine the effectiveness of the company in bringing maximum value to customer where it can greatly impact to delay minimization, costs reduction and quality improvement. Thus, Excellence Operating System (EOS) with machine certification and manpower selection and certification procedure is introduced. To develop this system, the factors that increased the downtime are identified. The philosophy of the EOS is making sure the production is always in control. To achieve this,4M(Machine, Man, Material and Method) are the key elements. The machine has to be clean and in order, and light signals are used to determine the condition of the machine. Operators are taught to understand the EOS and give suggestions to improve their workplace. On the other hand, good methods are provided to maintain the stability of the manufacturing efficiency and material is well controlled and has consistent quality. Throughout this study, the EOS is developed and examined. The result of EOS is positive and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of EOS lines is consistent compare with non-EOS lines. With a well-organized evaluation indicator, the production is under control and monitor where consistency in manufacturing efficiency can be achieved. The next approach of this study is enhancing EOS in monitor performance trends and to identify, isolate and analyse the source and impact of problems, whether product defects or production anomalies. Others, identification of trends in quality, efficiency or throughput to make proactive decisions also can be the new approach of this study. EOS is a stepping stone and encourages new idea and concept that can emerge with EOS that full of potential.
