Description
Summary:Each of the bidentate and tridentate Schiffbase ligands containing a donor set ofNN- and ONN- atoms were prepared by condensation reaction of 2- ridinecarbaxaldehyde with phenylhydrazine and salicylaldehyde with 2-dimethylaminoethylamine. Five organotin(lV) complexes (3-7) of 2-pyridinecarbaxaldehyde phenyl hydrazone ligand (I) with R"SnCl,." (n = 1,2) have been synthesized in absolute hexane in 1:1 mole ration (/igand:metal) under nitrogen atmosphere. Two organotin(IV) complexes (8-9) were synthesized by the similar reaction with 2-hydroxybenzylidene-2-dimethylaminoethylamine ligand (2). Schiff base ligands (1-2) and their organotin(lV) complexes (3-9) have been characterized by UV-visible, molar conductance, FTlR and IH NMR spectral analyses. A six-coordinated molecular structure has been proposed for the synthesized organotin(IV) complexes (3-9) for both ligands (1-2).
