| Summary: | This course is designed in two parts that is poetry writing and lyric writing. Students will be exposed to the various principles of poetry and lyric writing. The course emphasizes on the aspects of writing style and rhetoric of poetry and lyric writing as well as the technique know how to choose the most appropriate theme and form for a poetry/lyric. Students are required to develop, study and evaluate own writing piece uncovering the strengths and weaknesses in great detail. Conversely, students are also required to analyze and evaluate renowned foreign/local poetries/lyrics in order for them to better understand the principles of poetry and lyric writing. The content of the course will highlight introduction to poetry writing, types and forms of poetry, sound, sense device, lyric study, introduction to lyric writing, foreign lyrics and the process of lyric writing. |
