| Summary: | We have developed a prototype of a robust and effective Information Retrieval System that allows users to search halal-related information from Malay documents. In the new era in which all information can be access through online, the search for halal-related information requires access to reliable sources of Malay documents. Using topic analysis technique, the system is the first developed application that is able to process, index and retrieve halal-related information from combined collection of Malay documents from translated Al-Quran, translated Hadiths and web articles collection. As a fully functional system, users will be able to conduct online search on halal-related information from reliable sources. The system can be further developed into an e-learning system to assist students on Islamic studies. The system can be further enhanced as application that run as web portal under relevant ministry of Malaysia to be access through web application on desktop or mobile devices. |
