Summary: | One of greatest challenges facing higher education institutions in this millennium is to
provide equitable access to the rapidly growing population. The problem is further
compounded by the fact that learners are increasingly more diverse in nature and more
demanding in terms of the quality of education that they receive. To rise to this
challenge, higher educational institutions must be more creative and innovative in
delivering its programmes and services to their learners. The traditional modes of
delivery still have their strengths and relevance, but they need to be continually
upgraded and improved upon. At the same time, new modes of delivery need to be
explored to cater more effectively to the varying needs of the diverse learners. |
