The reconstruction process has suffered from delays in completion and the lack of coordination in terms of financial aid, project delivery, and logistics aspects, which are crucial to ensure proper planning for future urbanization is considered. Like other construction projects, post-disaster housing reconstruction projects are also plagued with delays in completion issues due to the ongoing and widespread adoption of the traditional construction method. Although there are efforts to define and implement collaborative procurement methods such as partnering and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) in the construction industry, these concepts are still new in most developing countries, let alone be applied within a disaster reconstruction setting. This research applies qualitative methods for identifying the viewpoints of the stakeholders involved in the post-disaster housing reconstruction process. Six participants were involved in the qualitative data collection and their input combined with the extensive literature review has provided a comprehensive understanding of the research context.
