Based on this backdrop, the paper examined the role of the Nigerian media in leadership recruitment with particular reference to Nigeria’s 2015 Presidential election. The paper therefore revealed that the advocacy role of the Nigerian media before and during the 2015 Presidential election was not balanced. Thus, the study adopted qualitative method in the collection and analysis of data while Agenda setting theory was applied as a theoretical framework. The paper recommends among others that the media managers and practitioners should genuinely embrace unbiased professional ethics of the media in their reportage. Theoretically, the paper adopted Agenda setting theory as a theoretical framework for its analysis.
