The research results are based on a survey of Air Asia business and leisure passengers using KLIA LCT (Kuala Lumpur Low Cost Terminal). The survey was based on two independent variables. The first variable was changes to the existing fare structure in decrements of 10%, 20%, 30%. The second variable represented different locations within the LCT including the departure lounge. There are both commonalities and differences of opinion between the two population groups us to which facilities were most important but, overall, there was reasonable evidence that, for both, business and leisure passengers, there appeared a potential willingness to trade-off the provision of specific facilities in exchange for a reduction in air fares.
