More than 80% of university graduates intend to work as employee and only about 6% create their own job. Number of unemployed university graduates is rapidly growing from 409,900 graduates in February 2007 to 626,200 in February 2008 or increases at 52%. Entrepreneurship development will surely give solution to the high rate of university graduates unemployment rate. Entrepreneurship will enhance economic growth quality since it enables more people to get a benefit from such growth and available economic potentials. Hence, entrepreneurial education should be given a priority thus university graduates will be able to create their own job. Entrepreneurial education can be considered as a major contributor to improve the quality of graduates who start new business, also to improve social and intellectual behaviors towards entrepreneurship, in the long run. Entrepreneurial education model does not only consider the contents of entrepreneurial education program but also the context where such program is implemented by facilitator as well as the approaches used (Protorius, 2000a,b). Other than that, as cited from Choo and Wong (2006), severe economic condition is generally regarded as the major factor which inhibits new business growth as entrepreneurial barriers. Finally, how the ability of the graduates to perceive opportunity and entrepreneurial career intention is the key characteristics of a potential entrepreneur (Reitan, 1997). The research conducted on Universitas Sumatera Utara Medan students using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) shows that this entrepreneurial education has an impact towards their career intention if the barriers are high. On the contrary, if the barriers are low, the education does not have any impact to the intention of being entrepreneur. Subsequently, this is a challenge for the higher institution of how such entrepreneurial education should be modeled to enhance the students' intention to be entrepreneur to achieve regional growth through entrepreneurship. Considering that students go to university to make them easier to find job after graduating.
