Description
Summary:Requirements specification is a process of documenting user and system requirements. Commonly, user and system requirements should be clear, unambiguous, easy to understand, complete, and consistent. In practice, this is difficult to achieve due to various requirements interpretations by stakeholders, which often caused inherent conflicts and inconsistencies. The implementation of the existing e-tendering system still triggers the issue of uncertainties especially in defining the functional requirements .Therefore, this study aims to construct a functional requirement model of an e-tendering system using requirement template in natural language representation approach. The development of this system requirement model may provide a consistency to the requirements representation. The study used the UN/CEFACT Business Standard of e-Tendering Business Requirement Specification as the benchmark in identifying functional requirements of the e-tendering system. The identified functional requirements are designed by using Requirement Template to ensure reliability and understandability.Besides, the proposed functional requirements are constructed by adapting the natural language and expert review verification approaches. As a result, this study proposed a functional requirements specification that contains detail description which can be referred by software practitioner in developing effective and secured e-tendering system.
