By applying lean concept in construction, it could assist the construction company to be able to facilitate delivery process.The objective of this research is to identify the obstacles to implement lean management in construction projects and which lean tools and techniques applicable in construction as well as to explore how five lean principles could improve the construction productivity.A qualitative method was used which involved in depth interview as the main instrument for the study.The finding is the main barrier to lean implementation is lack of knowledge about lean management.Lean principles, tools and techniques could improve the productivity of construction.The contribution of lean management in construction industry enables to provide non value added during the process, reduce costs and satisfy the customer.However, lean management in construction is still new in Malaysia and limited application in construction project.
