Summary:In Malaysia, presently there is no legislation that specifically deals with sexual harassment in the workplace.Women's activist groups in Malaysia have been working together to bring greater awareness to the issue of sexual harassment and with legislation in place, it can effectively prevent sexual harassment in the workplace and provide victims with timely and meaningful access to legal redress. Awareness is the most important weapon in the fight of sexual harassment in the workplace.The paper examines how a mainstream pro-government newspaper in Malaysia represents the issue on the need for legislation of sexual harassment.
