Summary: | The purpose of this study was to look into important issues that affect the implementation of the government program particularly the MS ISO 9000. Factors such as organizational culture, leadership commitment and understanding of the ISO is the independent variables (IV) and the level of readiness to implement ISO became
the dependent variable (DV). Sample for the research was chosen from 6 government agencies which had implemented and being given the authorization certificate of the MS ISO 9000. Data collection was done by secondary data and also from questionnaire. Data analysis was done with the computer program SPSS with sub-program frequency, mean, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation and regression.
The study found that organizational culture and leadership commitment correlates negatively with the level of readiness to implement ISO. Furthermore the study found
that there is a positive relationship between the understanding of the program (ISO) with the level of readiness to implement the MS ISO 9000. This study also found a chain relationship between organizational culture and leadership commitment, relationship between leadership commitment and understanding of the program, and relationship between understanding of the program and the level of readiness. The study also found out that gender, the officer level and type of work do not differentiate their level of readiness to implement the program. From this study, few suggestion is put forward to be considered for future study. A study based on factors other than this study should be done to look into what factors really affecting the implementation of government policies. A study through observation and personal interviews is suggested to get better views of the respondents. |
