Summary:The Internet of Things (IoT) is an emerging technology with the potential to transform many spheres of human activity, including schooling. More and more Malaysian schools are using IoT solutions for tasks including supply tracking, student attendance tracking, and building energy management. However, there is no consistency in how organization adopt technologies associated with the Internet of Things. While some institutions are making hasty transitions to IoT technologies, others are taking their time. An in-depth familiarity with the personal factors that affect the acceptance and deployment of IoT technology in Malaysian institutions is crucial for developing effective strategies and interventions to promote its widespread adoption. Once universities have determined the impact of (1.) social influence and (2.) educational background, they can design targeted initiatives to raise awareness, provide training programmes, and foster a culture of technological innovation among their stakeholders. This paper understands and investigates the individual variables of Social Influence and Educational Background and their impact on the Acceptance and Adoption of IoT technology in Malaysian institutions.
