Summary:The retention of employees has been shown to be significant to the accomplishment of the organizations ‘objectives especially in building competitive advantage over other organizations. The objective of this exploration is to identify the factors of training and development, leadership, rewards and recognition, work life balance and career development contributing to employee retentions among bank employees in the operation and technology department in selected retail banks in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor area. Based on preceding research, the other researchers concluded that there is significant relationship between those five variables and employee retention. Data was collected by using the questionnaire that has been distributed to 385 respondents; however, only 303 questionnaires have been successfully collected for the data analysis. Findings of the research revealed that all five (5) variables having significant relationship with the employee retention, Overall, the analysis on the major findings, implications of the research, and limitations for the study and proposals for future research are deliberated in the end of this study.
