Zainal Abidin, Azizan Faye , Ibrahima QA Mathematics The book is intended for students learning Differential Equations EBB1113 in the first semester undergraduate of all engineering disciplines in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Tronoh, Perak. The scope covers introduction to Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) and methods of solutions to first and higher order ODEs, modeling problems, methods of solving ODE also include Power Series and Laplace Transforms, introduction to Fourier Series, and Systems of Linear Differential Equations. Content will include learning outcomes, short recap of previous topics relevant to new knowledge to be acquired, lecture notes, examples and exercises for students to submit for show of abilities. There are six chapters altogether, with minimum one and maximum seven sections, and appendices include mathematical formulas from algebra, trigonometry, differentiation and integration of various functions. This book is written in English and is simple enough for students at the college or university level to comprehend. This approach is usng workbook style where students are provided with spaces to show their solutions to the questions posed. After each short lecture notes, there are one or more examples for illustration followed by one or more in-class questions for students to try. At the end of each section there is a summary and 7 questions for students to do as homework. This style of apprach is to ensure that students build up their understanding from simple to difficult problems solving and each section is designed to be efficiently covered in a 50-minute lecture hour. Homework problems are meant for students to complete out of class. This second edition contains answers to homework problems prescribed.
