Summary: | Electromagnetic (EM) technology called Seabed Logging (SBL) has recently been used for hydrocarbon exploration. However, a powerful horizontal electrical dipole (HED) which could improve data acquisition for Sea Bed Logging has been the challenge in the industry. This paper presents development of a twin dipole with nickel zinc ferrite based magnetic feeders. An EM source will work as the EM antenna (HED) that transmits the electromagnetic wave to EM detector. The project consists of modeling the prototype of EM antenna for hydrocarbon exploration by using twin dipole of copper and aluminum rods and a few toroid shape magnetic feeders. Our simulation done using CST EM studio showed that copper is the preferred HED antenna. We used constructive interference with a few magnetic feeders to boost up the propagation of EM waves up to 355%. The antenna was named “powerful” because it can propagate a strong and far EM waves at more than 100m. |
