Description
Summary:This Sea bed logging (SBL) is a direct and remote application of control source electromagnetic method (CSEM) to detect the hydrocarbon wells. In this method, electromagnetic waves are used to detect the resistivity contrast between the various sediments. In this work, a new design of antenna is used as the source of Electromagnetic waves. Maxwell Equations will be solved in two modes (poloidal and toroidal modes) to determine the magnetic fields. This would help in detecting the resistive layer under seabed. Numerical solutions of the equations are given and the performance of the antenna from a frequency of 0.01 to 10 Hz, in 500 m sea water depth is presented. © 2016 Author(s).
