Summary: | Perfect housing can be described as the one that meets residents’ requirement, provides well-being to the household and promotes the quality of life. People's Housing Programme (PPR) is a housing development program for people in the urban area who do not own a house either for rental or for living. This program benefits the city dwellers to enjoy comfortable life and provide well-being. However, there are three socio-economic issues in the PPR scheme; unity, social and economic. To investigate more on those issues, this article discusses the socio-economic and political impact of the PPR in Lembah Subang, Selangor. This study used quantitative method, namely questionnaires to collect data from respondents. A total of 360 respondents were selected to participate in this survey and references to secondary data such as journal articles, conferences or seminars and scientific books were consulted throughout this study. Findings indicate that majority of respondents are satisfied with the implementation of PPR and it has successfully improved the economic status, reduced the social problems and created social cohesion in achieving national aspiration towards development 1 Malaysia. Besides that, this program has delivered a good support to the government especially in providing quality life to the people. Finally this study has contributed a significant guidance in identifying opinions among the society for successfully executing this project in the future and also in enhancing this policy in order to meet current requirements. |
