Summary:The purpose of this study is to investigate dietary habits in retired athletes in Saudi Arabia. Seventy(70) former athletes, aged between 20-60 years old, who had participated in international and national competitions, and had since stopped competitive sport were recruited for this study. Sports history, age, height, and weight, dietary habits were collected using an online questionnaire. The study results showed that 47.14% of the participants are overweight and 22.86% are obese. It also indicated that 84.29% of the former athletes were eating fast food, whereas, the prevalence of drinking fizzy drinks was 71.43%. Also, the results of this study found out that there is no significant relationship between eating fast food and drinking fizzy drinks and obesity.
