One vital determinant that leads to this advancement is the Malaysian government’s involvement in the health industry. However, the Health Information Systems (HIS) deployed seldom face the inadequacy of security protection, either from the systems or data stored. Therefore, this paper aims to resolve this HIS security issue by proposing the implementation of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) in one of the Malaysian government hospital. Three experts’ opinion are collected and all agreed with the proposed PKI solution. By implementing this solution, it is expected that the HIS data security and confidentiality will be consequently improved.
