This review paper examines two major areas in tourism studies which discusses the influence of sensory aspect towards the tourist experience, namely, in the area of tourism marketing and tourism geographies. Based on the key research gaps which have been identified, it is concluded that there are the needs for sensory aspect studies in relation to the tourist experience in developing a positive impact of the quality of tourist experience in tourism literature.
