The antenna reflection coefficient at 2.4 GHz is improved by optimizing the circular patch diameter with value of 36 mm. Wide bandwidth and omnidirectional radiation pattern characteristics is realized by implementing partial ground plane. The proposed design exhibited return loss of -23 dB in simulation, -34 dB in measurement while -15 dB in simulation, -24 dB in measurement at 2.4 and 5.2 GHz, respectively. Hence, the proposed dual band antenna design operating at 2.4 and 5.2 GHz band frequencies can be used for wireless LAN (WLAN) applications.
