Summary: | The quality of education develops from curriculum that meets the market demand. Understanding of the curriculum itself is very important before an educational institution in designing a new program. Therefore, the program educational objectives (PEO) should be clear in order to produce programs (PO) parallel with the vision of quality education in Malaysia who want to achieve students who are competent and globally competitive. This study aims to identify the PEO and PO that offered in the Diploma in Landscape Management at Kolej RISDA whether it is compatible with the job market needs, to obtain information about the needs of industry and alumni accomplishments in the working field and proposed restructuring the PEO and PO for the Diploma in Landscape Management Kolej RISDA towards more specialized courses to enhance the employability skills. The methodology that been used is questionnaire, quantitative approaches. The study participants were selected among professionals and lecturers in the landscape management field. The analysis is based on the effectiveness of PEO and PO which was formulated by the Kolej RISDA. Then, a improvements framework of PEO and PO will be proposed for the Diploma in Landscape Management in the College RISDA have been developed. Finally, this study shows that the statistical PEO and PO for Landscape Management Diploma course must include the requirements and demands of the job market. These criteria which been concern in landscape management education not only focus on theoretical knowledge, but practical training is needed in order to expose and experience by the students themselves in the real working environment |
