Summary: | In this paper, a simple and fast PI-fuzzy controller suitable for high switching PWM dc/ac converter regulation is proposed. Contrary to the conventional fuzzy controller which uses two variables as inputs, the proposed controller requires only one input variable. The single input structure reduces the numbers of inference rules from p2 to p, where p is the fuzzification level. Furthermore using this method, fuzzification/defuzzification processes can be avoided. The control surface of the proposed PI-fuzzy is approximated by a piecewise linear, allowing for a much simpler tuning procedure. To verify its viability, the algorithm of the proposed controller and its conventional counterpart are also implemented. Based on the experimental results, it is found that both yield near identical transient and steady-state performance. However, the proposed controller exhibits a much faster computation time. |
