In this research, effect of viscous dissipation on the mixed convection heat transfer from an exponentially stretching surface and presence of suction and injection has been studied. The influence of buoyancy along with viscous dissipation on the convective in the boundary layer region is analyzed in both assisting (A > 0) and opposing (A < 0) flow situations. The governing nonlinear partial differential equations are first transformed into ordinary differential equation using a self-similar transformation. Numerical results presented include the effect of temperature profile and velocity profile, as well as the skin friction and heat transfer coefficient on the parameters like mixed convection parameter, A,Prandtl number, Pr, Gebhart number, Gb and injection and suction parameter. It is shown that the velocity boundary layer thickness is increased with the increase of both mixed convection, X and viscous dissipation parameters, Pr and Gb. 2010 Thesis NonPeerReviewed Mohamad Sahar, Amirah (2010) Effect of viscous dissipation on the mixed convection heat transfer from an exponentially stretching surface.
