Description
Summary:This article presents the research work of developing the Internet Ethical Attitude Scale (IEAS) for university students, supported by various models and theories on internet ethics, which gave insights into the standard variables used by most researchers in this field. The results from the questionnaire survey on 340 university students in Malaysia and quantitative analysis using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) have brought out the significance of knowledge and awareness, attitude, perceived usefulness, subjective norms, and fear of consequences. However, perceived behaviour control, one of the variables measured, has no positive relation to intention toward internet ethics. The results and findings from this IEAS framework could be used as a guideline for further research and implementation by the institutes of higher learning, governing bodies and ministries.
