Civil engineering (General) Industrial growth of Indonesia is currently experiencing an acceleration in the form of project planning and development carried out by integrated construction companies or engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies. These EPC companies are important due to their experience in design and development of industrial projects with advanced technology and human resources. However, the performance of some projects is less successful in emphasizing time, cost, quality, health & safety, and the environment. As project performance cannot be separated from the concept of project management and the competence of the project manager, it is important to identify the critical factors that related to the project manager competencies in managing EPC project in Indonesia. Therefore in this study, an evaluation was conducted to analyse, identify the all competency factors and critical factors related to project manager competency in managing EPC Project. Since Indonesia does not have a specific standard for EPC management, the basic theoretical concepts used in this study are based on several project management references from the International Framework, namely Project Manager Competency Development Framework issued by Project Management Institute (PMI), IPMA Competence Baseline issued by International Project Management Association (IPMA) and APM Competence Framework issued by Association for Project Management (APM) as well as references from basic competency theories. The only basis used today in Indonesia is Standard Kompetensi Kerja Nasional Indonesia (SKKNI). This research was conducted with several stages of factor analysis that comprises of 4 objectives. The first objective is obtain to the 105 competency factors that occurred between SKKNI and the international framework. In the objective 2, this study obtained 140 important factors from the competency of EPC project managers in Indonesia made in 3 groups. Each stage of the factor analysis of this study involves several project management experts in Indonesia for validation of the competency factor. The primary and secondary data are obtained from data collection from respondents through a questionnaire. The questionnaires were distributed to 150 respondents/samples and returned by 142 respondents, which provided the most important feedback from EPC project managers in Indonesia. From the factor analysis using the Structure Equation Modelling (SEM), it was found that all factors are quite valid and reliable. However for data processing with Smart PLS application, it was found that there are 15 independent sub-factors excluded due to invalid factor in cronbach alpha value (<0.70). Factor analysis yielded only 125 independent or determinant sub-factors as project manager competency critical factor in three groups (Objective 3). The final data processing was carried out with twelve (12) hypotheses and the results of the data analysis were validated by several project management experts. The results of this study found 59 project manager competency factors that greatly affect their personal competence (Objective 4) in managing EPC project in Indonesia. 2021 Thesis NonPeerReviewed application/pdf en http://eprints.utm.my/id/eprint/102211/1/MairizalPSKA2021.pdf.pdf Mairizal, Mairizal (2021) Kompetensi pengurus projek dalam penilaian prestasi projek pembinaan bersepadu di Indonesia.
