This paper aimed to examine the application of lean production techniques in machining based product production systems, particularly for block cross member automotive parts. The Lean tool as known as value stream mapping was deployed for preliminary analysis while the analytical hierarchy process was applied to analyse the multi criteria decision making model for a waste selection process in the production system.
