Chitosan-Bentonite Composite For The Removal Of Tartrazine, Malachite Green And Copper (II) From Aqueous Solution
Adsorption of tartrazine, malachite green (MG) and copper (II) ion from aqueous solutions by chitosan-bentonite composite (CCB) beads was investigated. CCB beads was prepared by dissolving chitosan with 5 % acetic acid. Bentonite was then added into the mixture and left overnight. The beads were the...

Summary: | Adsorption of tartrazine, malachite green (MG) and copper (II) ion from aqueous solutions by chitosan-bentonite composite (CCB) beads was investigated. CCB beads was prepared by dissolving chitosan with 5 % acetic acid. Bentonite was then added into the mixture and left overnight. The beads were then cross-linked with epichlorohydrin (ECH) solution before ground, dried and used for the adsorption studies. CCB beads were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy in order to determine the functional groups, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for the information of surface morphology, |
