Summary: | This research attempts to study the fatwa management in Indonesia which is
represented by three Islamic NGOS namely Majlis Ulama Indonesia (MUI),
Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah. The research utilized two
methodologies; library research where the researchers obtained the information
through books and brochures and field research. The research concentrated on the
centers of the three NGOS only, two in Jakarta and one in Yogyakarta. The out come
of the research shows that the three NGOS have achieved tremendous achievement
in the fatwa management however, there is still room which needs to be improved
especially in the area of enforcement and the using of ICT in the fatwa management.
The finding of this research is crucial especially for those who intend to improve the
fatwa management internationally, since Indonesia has a long experience in the field
and at the same time is the most populous muslim country in the world. |
