Summary:This article discusses the usage of thinking in fostering student intelligence. The types of thinking and different theories on intelligence were discussed. The types of thinking which were discussed include critical thinking, analytical thinking, practical thinking, creative thinking, convergent thinking, divergent thinking, lateral thinking, and vertical thinking. Student’s intelligence can be fostered by encouraging students to engage in different types of thinking. Ways to encourage students to use the different types of thinking which can help foster intelligence were also discussed in this article.
