Normally they are disposed in an open burning activity which is a threat to the environment. Solid biofuel pellet is a conversion of biomass into fuel source to fully utilize the waste products. However, current pellet manufacturers are having problem with handling, storage and transportation for the pellet due to their durability. Thus, a solution has been achieved to add a binder compound to strengthen the pellet. The problem is to find the suitable binder compound which will not affect the characterization and combustion behavior as well as the ash composition of the pellet. To come up with the most suitable binder compound, variety of tests has been implemented on several chosen potential binder compounds which are fronds, coconut husk and coconut shell to the base materials which are rice husk and rice straw.
