my.uniten.dspace-333222024-09-01T02:00:18Z Comparison of energy conversion technology to the electricity production in Malaysia Muhammad Syamsul Syafiq Putera Rosli Power resources TJ163.2.M83 2015 Power plants in Malaysia like many other countries are still depending on fossil-based fuels (oil, natural gas, and coal) in generating electricity. However these resources are being continuously depleted and could not be reinstated within any practical time span. In contrast, Renewable Energy (RE) resources, as the name implies, are constantly replenished naturally and will never be exhausted. Therefore, this study is conducted to see the pattern of Malaysian Electricity Generation against the Energy Conversion Technologies and hence analyze the result to find the best technologies in generating more electricity with lesser amount of pollutant emissions produced. The capacity of power plant generation installed and electricity production from the years 2000 to 2007 together with the emitting factors have been identified and stored in LEAP, the Malaysia Energy Planning Model Long Range Energy Alternatives Planning System (LEAP) to do analysis and simulate for future years. The results propose to increase the weightage in Malaysian electricity generation mix of Renewable Energies and explore more on combined cycle's technologies in order to generate more electricity and at the same time can reduce emissions. 2024-08-26T04:29:28Z 2024-08-26T04:29:28Z 2015 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/33322 en application/pdf |
