This might be because of the deficiencies of the system performance, or due to inadequate system maintenance. A case study was conducted in assessing the performance of the HVAC system specifically the Air Handling Unit (AHU) system in the third floor of the BN building, College of Engineering, Universiti Tenaga Nasional. The aim is to identify the current efficiency of the AHU system and to propose the energy conservation measures (ECM) that can be practically implemented in the corresponding building. An evaluation of the no-cost, low-cost and high-cost measures were discussed extensively. In this paper, the study parameters were obtained from the data logging and the data collection. The results revealed that the air was equally distributed throughout the ventilated system without neglecting human thermal comfort. Nevertheless, the system was inefficient due to power factor is below than 0.85. The filter cleaning and flushing of the AHU system were proposed to mitigate the problems. Additionally, the economic analysis on the good maintenance practices and the viability of the implementation of high-cost measures, for instance, system change or system enhancement through the installation of the variable speed drive (VSD) to the available system were presented as well. The energy-efficiency strategies are significant in achieving deep energy saving cost efficiently. 2024-03-22T07:50:54Z 2024-03-22T07:50:54Z 2018 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/31651 en_US application/pdf |
