Description
Summary:Voltage stability is the main concern in power system and becomes a problem in engineering practices. Increasing of power demands and increasing of distributed generations with the implementation of advanced technologies may contribute to voltage instability. Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU), a powerful device to monitor voltage profile of a system have been shown in the thesis. Simulations have been made on IEEE 39 bus test case to demonstrate PMU data. PSS/E software version 34 used as a main tool in the thesis to stimulate the test system. In order to obtain voltage stability, identification of weak buses and line have been made. Three indices, FVSI, LQP and VSI have been performed to determine the weak bus and weak line in the test system. Load increment have been performed to achieve PV-curve. Improvising voltage profile using fixed shunt have been made. Installing PV plant into the system then fault is applied to compare with initial condition. The simulation results are analysed and discussed briefly in this thesis.
