There are few conventional wastewater treatment methods, but the majority of them are expensive. One of Moringa oleifera, (MO) multi-purpose tree, which is environmentally friendly and low cost, becomes an option for extracting heavy metal from wastewater. In this research, using the moringa oleifera as organic coagulant to remove heavy metal are measured. The moringa oleifera powder that are in two form ,that is in dried and bio-charcoal form are able to remove heavy metals but the effiency are different in both form. Therefore , the experiment are conducted in uniten environment laboratory. The synthetic water are made in the same laboratory. The moringa oleifera powder in both form was immersed in different iron concentration. Jar test were carried out with the iron solution of 500 ml with various dosage of moringa oleifera powder. The initial and final heavy metal (iron) concentration are measured using the Atomic Absorption Spectrometer and the removal percentage are calculated. The results show that maximum percentage removal occur at activate carbon MO at 2000 mg/l at iron concentration 20 ml. The percentage removal for various initial iron concentration gives a inconsistent result, it appears that the optimum removal is at concentration of 20 ml (10mg/l). The iron removal of the MO is fine. The Moringa oleifera powder in dry and biochar form is both advisable for good coagulation and the removal of iron. as the MO concentration increases, the iron removal rate has been increased. 2023-05-03T17:05:59Z 2023-05-03T17:05:59Z 2020-02 https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/21506 application/pdf |
