spelling my.uniten.dspace-214612023-05-04T14:35:54Z Thermoelectric Kettle Based Heat DC Generator Muhammad Najmi Bin Abdul Malek Thermoelectric Kettle Genarator FYP SEM 2 2019/2020 This thesis develops a working hardware-based prototype which is a thermoelectric kettle-based heat DC generator, a modified stovetop kettle attached with multiple Thermoelectric-Generator (TEG) plates that converts temperature difference from different sources but focusing on the temperature of water inside the kettle and a heating element (gas or electric stove) according to Seebeck effect. The energy converted from the TEG plates were used to charge a portable battery bank or any 5V electrical devices. This project is concentrated heavily on the Seebeck effect which summaries to the phenomenon which during the occurrence of a temperature difference between two different electrical conductor or semiconductor (TEG plate is a combination of lead telluride and bismuth telluride) produces a voltage difference. As the voltage generated solely depends on the temperature difference, high and inconsistent voltage output will damage all the electrical device connected.
