my.uniten.dspace-214252023-05-05T16:12:56Z Performance Study On Construction Waste Soil Improvement Using Tamarind Kernal Powder (TKP) Phang Yinn Harn Construction Waste Soil Soil Improvement Tamarind Kernal Powder (TKP) FYP Sem 2 2019/2020 The present study mainly focuses to explore the possibilities of using natural materials like Tamarind Kernel Powder (TKP), Egg Shell Powder (ESP) and so on for soil improvement on problematic clays. However, the current study aims to evaluate the potential of adoption of Tamarind Kernel Powder (TKP) particularly for soil improvement on construction waste soil. Tamarind Kernel Powder (TKP) has been evaluated for its potential of adoption in soil improvement by investigating and comparing the geotechnical properties of construction waste soil before and after addition of Tamarind Kernel Powder (TKP). So, several parameters including specific gravity, shear strength, dry density and moisture content have been selected for comparison through laboratory tests such as the Specific Gravity Test, Direct Shear Test and Compaction Test. The addition of 15% of Tamarind Kernel Powder (TKP) to construction waste soil resulted in decrease in specific gravity of the construction waste soil from 2.17 to 1.85. The addition of 10% of this natural material also resulted in decrease of shear strength of the construction waste soil generally, with highest value of 75.440°for angle of internal friction and lowest value of 19.955 kN/m2 for cohesion. Furthermore, the maximum dry density of construction waste soil decrease from 1711.91 kg/m3 to 1615.51 kg/m3 but the optimum moisture content (OMC) of the construction waste soil increase from 9.72% to 9.99% when added by 15% of Tamarind Kernel Powder (TKP). 2023-05-03T16:51:43Z 2023-05-03T16:51:43Z 2020-02 https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/21425 application/pdf |
