It is essentials for a free and complimentary power source with high rating and harmonic been increased in order to reach the qualification of the manufactory especially in electric vehicle industry. This project is specifically done to analyze and to compare the Total Harmonic Distortion value of the conventional two level inverters (TLI) and cascaded H-bridge of 7 level multilevel DC to AC inverter in electric vehicle charger application. Inverter can basically be divided into two, level inverter and multilevel inverter. Outcome of the seven level Cascaded H-Bridge seven level Inverter level Total Harmonic Distortion value are lower than the conventional inverter. The upgraded seven level inverter compared to a two level inverter has dominances such as lower distortion of harmonics and it have higher efficiency in term of output power. The practice of this topology and the combination with a sinusoidal pulse width modulation, integrate an output quality which is higher especially with the designed configuration of multilevel inverter. Simulation results using Matlab/Simulink are also done and discusses in this project so that it can be useful to prove the performance of the upgraded inverter.
