The project design and algorithm are obtained by using a simulation software, which is MATLAB Simulink. Furthermore, the LED driver model is vast in its uses, and the selection of Isolated SEPIC converter is based on its advantages when compared to other drivers. The operation mode for this LED driver is in Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) that is chosen as it favours the ease of designing process for the converter and also provides a high-power factor for the system. In this thesis, the study of feedback controller is observed where there will be two types of controller that is implemented, which is conventional Proportional-Integration (PI) controller and advanced control of Model Predictive Controller (MPC) in order to compare its effectiveness in regulating the dimming process of LED driver. the mechanism and algorithm is derived full in this thesis which gives a vivid view on the control method of the controller, that is done by choosing the best duty cycle in order to obtain lowest objective cost function before injected to the LED driver. It is figured out that the dimming process by using the conventional control method is done successfully by controlling the output voltage to make it dimmable by 80% and 40% of its rated value. However, the MPC implementation requires further work in the command line of MATLAB Simulink to obtain the desired output.ch for this paper 2023-05-03T15:18:36Z 2023-05-03T15:18:36Z 2020-02 https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/20754 en application/pdf |
