According to the Department of Environment Malaysia 's reports, received a total of 1082 cases concerning odor problems and emissions in relation to the livestock farms. The pattern indicated a rise in odor problems per year. This is because manure itself will produce bad gas that can lead to the bad illness. Poor management of the manure is alleged to be the source of the problems. The odor comes from the chicken manure attract the flies and cause problem to the surrounding area. The main purpose of this project is to mitigate the problem by designing a system that can eliminate the odor of the chicken farms. Moreover, this project also outlined the design process of making fertilizer from the chicken manure, followed with the development of the most efficient and rapid composting soil from the chicken manure. The project is designed for smaller production to fit the capacity with a total of 450g of chicken manure which equivalent to 3 chickens. The design of the project mainly consists of 3 components which is conveyor, sheet metal slab and rotary dryer. The design is created using SolidWork software which include the drawing of each parts, components assemble, bill of materials, dimensions and also the stress strain analysis of the critical components is generated using the software. In order to obtain the final product of the chicken manure odor elimination system, the raw materials such as sheet metal, slotted angle steel, steel rod and others is undergone the manufacturing processes of bending, cutting, drilling, welding, labelling and painting. The stress strain analysis of the critical components showed that the components are safe to work in the system as the Factor of Safety is above the allowable limit of 1.5. Not just that, the motor selection study resulted in a motor torque of at least 11.95 mNm or greater. In addition, the system analysis on energy required to dry out a total of 450g of chicken manure resulted in a total of 795.28kJ. The power requires for the system is 9.72kWh to work 3 hours a day for 30 days in a month. The cost to produce the drying machine unit for chicken manure is RM246.88.
