Perhaps, from this research a better-quality environment can be realised by reducing the amount of cement used in a concrete mix. It is because the cement sector industry known as one of the largest industrial sources of pollution, that emitted carbon dioxide as the waste product. That’s why it is very important to reduce the use of cement in the construction sector by finding a better alternative. Fly ash is the best material that can be used to replace some of the percentage of cement. It could increase the workability due to the pozzolanic properties that can enhance the cementitious property of the concrete. As the interlocking bond between properties increases, it will trigger to increase the density and the compressive strength of the concrete. The role of CO2 in this project also is to increase the compressive strength of the concrete by reacting with the calcium silicate to produce calcium carbonates that will fill up the voids in the concrete. Next, CO2 also can increase the rate of hydration process especially during the early age of carbonation process. So, a proper test was conducted to study the impact of those material to the concrete strength. A total sample of 7 mix design were produced to be tested for the compression test and carbonation test. All the results and considerations were tabulated and recorded in this thesis. Hopefully, this thesis can help and give a good impact in the future. 2023-05-03T14:59:35Z 2023-05-03T14:59:35Z 2020-02 https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/20386 application/pdf |
