The objectives of this study are to find terms (noun/noun phrase, verb/verb phrase and adjectives) used to describe women and to evaluate the existence of sexist discourse in the language used based on the feminist theory. It is a case study using discourse analysis at the word and phrase level, particularly based on systemic functional grammar. The findings showed that the terms used to describe women in the magazine were either neutral or non-neutral (sexist) terms. It also showed that sexist discourse especially exclusive terms for female existed in the language used in the magazines.
