Summary:This study aims to investigate the impact of economic crisis on the determinants of car ownership in ASEAN countries. The study’s data period is annual data from 2008 to 2017. The variables that are brought into this study are income, number of traffic accident casualties, population density, total road length and fuel price, A panel data analysis is employed to determine the relationships between the dependent and independent variables. According to the findings, only income of country has a significant and positive relationship with car ownership in ASEAN countries. As a result this research suggests that car is a normal good in ASEAN.
