Description
Summary:Droseraceae are one of the largest genera in carnivorous plants, with wide ranged distribution of plant species. Drosera spatulata var. bakoensis is one of the varieties from the Drosera spatulata Labill. species. In Sarawak, this species is micro endemic to the Bako Sandstone Plateau in Bako National Park from Muara Tuang Tebas Peninsular. The present study looks on the taxonomy and ecology of Drosera spatulata var. bakoensis. This species differs from the usual Drosera spatulata as it can be distinguished by its distinctive petiolate leaves with broadly to rotundate lamina, its shorter stipules and its fewer flowers. Further research on Drosera spatulata var. bakoensis should be conducted more due to its high potential in medicinal usages so that we can utilize that potential.
