Summary:This article focuses on the application of philosophical values in the architectural design of the Malay house Anjung Layar Sari (RMALS) in Kampung Spaoh Betong Sarawak. For the Malay community, which is synonymous with Islam, the house is property, shelter and residence. That is why it was built with a priority on comfort, safety and art, symbolizing the uniqueness of the Malay house. The architectural design of Malay houses makes a lot of use of natural elements and is based on the ideological philosophy of the Malay community. Malay houses generally conform to the concept of a universal "house" because their construction is relatively more permanent. The elements that determine the Malayness of a traditional house can be seen in its architectural features. Motifs in the form of flora, fauna, and calligraphy are used the most compared to other motifs and are used as a benchmark for Malay house architectural identity. Data were obtained through interviews with informants, the owners of RMALS themselves. Data analysis explains the uniqueness of this Malay house building through various architectural aspects of the roof lattice, stairs, landscape, attic and wooden pegs as well as the use of flora, fauna and calligraphic motifs used such as duck motif, bamboo shoot motif and traditional Indonesian batik motif. has the application of philosophical values and carries its own meaning.
